Foreign insurers authorized to set up subsidiaries

With the establishment of the ASEAN economic community by 2015, foreign insurers will be allowed to open subsidiaries in Indonesia.
Currently, these insurers can only perform operations through joint ventures in which their shareholding is capped at 80%. The entry into force of this exchange zone is likely to allow the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor.
