Generali rejects the Standard & Poor's rating

Generali has announced its withdrawal from Standard & Poor's rating system.

The Italian group contests aligning its rating with that of the sovereign debt of Italy which has been in difficulties for several years.

According to Generali, in addition to scoring criteria that do not include the progress of the company in terms of financial strength, Standard & Poor's takes into account, neither the diversification of its activities nor its presence in other countries.

Note that Generali still retains the ratings Moody's (Baa1), Fitch (A-) and AM Best (A).
