Generali's encouraging beginnings of the three-year plan

GeneraliGenerali's three-year plan (2019- 2021) is off to a flying start. At the end of June 2019, the Italian insurance company posted a 34.6% increase in net result to 1.78 billion EUR (2 billion USD).

This growth is mainly due to the development of the Belgian and German subsidiaries. Without the latter, the increase in net result would be limited to 6.4% over the same semester.

In addition, Generali achieved a 7.6% increase in operating profit at 2.7 billion EUR (3 billion USD). The turnover rose by 1.8% at 35.37 billion EUR (40.2 billion USD).

Europe's third-largest insurer has set a target of improving profits from 6 to 8%, despite lower and lower interest rates.
