Growth of the insurance market estimated at 10% in 2014

The figures used to measure the performance of insurance companies in the first nine months of 2014 have revealed a 6% increase in gross premiums at 212.26 million BHD (568 million USD).

The motor, life, health and fire classes of business account for 80% of the turnover.

The Central Bank of Bahrain, the entity in charge of regulating the insurance business, has estimated that the increase in gross premiums for the entire year would be at 10%, compared to the 8% reported over the 12 months of 2013 at 258.41 million BHD (691 million USD).
