Growth of the insurance market in 2014

The volume of premiums written by Jordanian insurance companies in 2014 increased by 7.6% at 527.9 million JOD (747.7 million USD). Non life insurance accounted for 90% of the market, reporting a turnover of 474.8 million JOD (672.5 million USD) over the same period.

Life insurance grew by 12% at 53.1 million JOD (75.2 million USD). The published figures show that motor insurance accounted for 40.4% of the overall market premiums at 213 million JOD (301.7 million USD).
It is followed by the health class of business which, with 143 million JOD (202.5 million USD) participated with 27.1% of market contributions.
