Egypt: Health insurance potential

According to Mohamed A. Maait , vice president of the Egyptian Financial Services Authority (EFSA), health expenditure amounted in 2013 to nearly 100 billion EGP (14.4 billion USD), 72% of which are fully supported by patients.

Between 2007 and 2012, sales of health insurance have increased by over 40% at 367 million EGP (60 million USD) for the year 2011-2012.

Experts agree that the potential for the development of health insurance remains substantial provided that insurers sign agreements with clinics and hospitals.
