Hong Kong: insurance turnover in 2020

According to the data published by the Hong Kong insurance supervisory authority, the local market recorded a turnover of 581.4 billion HKD (74.97 billion USD) in 2020, which represents an increase of 2.5% over one year.

With 521.5 billion HKD (67.25 billion USD), life premiums have increased by 2% compared to 2019. The non-life turnover has grown by 8% reaching 59.9 billion HKD (7.72 billion USD).

The non-life technical result has risen from 869 million HKD (112.06 million USD) in 2019 to 2.3 billion HKD (296.61 million USD) in 2020, that is, an increase of 164.6% over one year.
