Insurance coverage for Algerian healthcare professionals

Five life insurance companies are partnering up in order to provide coverage for medical workers who are directly exposed to coronavirus.

Marketed in the form of a group contract, the insurance policy is backed by the State budget. It will be managed in co-insurance with CAARAMA as the lead insurer in charge of handling the contract and managing claims on behalf of the co-insurers.

In its final phase, the offer would include coverage for death by any cause and total disability supplemented by an additional death coverage in case of disappearance due to Covid-19. The insurer would also be covering medical expenses and assistance at the patient's home.

It is worth recalling that the establishment of this insurance was decided during the Council of Ministers held on 26 July 2020.
