Insurance market results of the year 2014

The association of the insurance companies of Côte d’Ivoire (ASACI) has published the market figures for the year 2014. According to them, the premiums for the year show an increase of 8.1% compared to 2013, totaling 472 million USD.

Life (+ 6.4%) and non life (+ 9.3%) classes of business represent respectively 43.4% and 56.6% of the turnover.

Non life insurance is dominated by motor and health – bodily injury classes with respectively 49.5 billion FCFA (91.7 million USD) and 40.52 billion FCFA (75.1 million USD), that is 19.4% and 16% of total turnover.
The indemnities, all classes included, amounted to 248.3 million USD.
