Insurers could invest more in infrastructures

According to Standard & Poor's, insurance companies could increase their investments in infrastructures to 80 billion USDper year, by allocating 3% (against 2% to date) of their assest to this type of project.

The agency estimates the worldwide's net borrowing for infrastructures projects at 3.4 trillion USD in 2030.

Such a contribution of insurers should help to fill "the annual funding gap of 500 billion USD for infrastructures projects between now and 2030", the agency points out.
