Insurers in EMEA region highly capitalized

According to Fitch, insurers in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) area are strongly capitalized. The rating agency is using its new model called "Prism Factor Based Model" launched in September 2014 to analyze the capital of insurers that are held in its portfolio.

Fitch concludes that 82% of them are characterized by a capitalization that ranges from extremely sound to very sound and to sound, which is consistent or even higher than the rating of these insurers.

The majority of ratings are limited by factors other than capital: low profit margins, sovereign rating of the States, lack of portfolio diversification, etc.
