Insurers’ turnover reaches 38 billion RWF (56.8 million USD)

The Rwandan insurance market surpassed the 38 billion RWF (56.8 million USD) in turnover, with the growing number of insurance companies and the evolving regulatory framework being behind this development.

Non life insurance reported, by December 31, 2013, a premium volume of 30 billion RWF (44.9 million USD) compared to 8 billion RWF (11.9 million USD) for life insurance.
The president of Rwanda’s insurers’ association reiterated the importance of innovation and new technologies to promote insurance.
