Japanese insurers are helping victims in search of their insurance certificates

Japanese non-life insurers have established a joint assistance center designed for policyholders who have been affected by the earthquake and the tsunami of March 11, enabling them to receive financial compensation. This center helps victims regain their insurance policies.
A free phone number was made available to policyholders, their families and relatives. A website has also been opened. The General Insurance Association of Japan (GIAJ) is using aerial and satellite photography to quickly compensate policyholders whose properties have totally disappeared.
