Lance Armstrong ordered to pay 10 million USD to SCA Promotions

The arbitration panel has ordered Lance Armstrong to pay 10 million USD to his former sponsor, the insurance company SCA Promotions.
This is the largest fine imposed on an individual basis in American legal history.

This decision reversed the previous ruling of 2006. It then condemned SCA Promotions to pay 7.5 million USD to the cyclist for refusing to pay him a bonus after his rather suspicious victory in the 2004 Tour de France.

As a reminder, the former American cyclist had been deprived in 2012 of all his titles in the Tour de France following the doping charges against him.
