Lawrence Mutsunge Nazare, new Group Managing Director of Continental Re

Lawrence Mutsunge Nazare has been promoted Group Managing Director of Continental Re. He will replace Femi Oyetunji, who is retiring on 31 March 2021. The appointment will take effect on 1 April 2021.

A Zimbabwean national, L. Lawrence Mutsunge Nazare holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Zimbabwe. He is also an Associate Member of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (AIISA), an Associate in Reinsurance (Are) of the American Insurance Institute and also a Member of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria.

The newly promoted executive enjoys more than 30 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance. He started his career in 1990 as Manager in the Underwriting Division of the Zimbabwe Reinsurance Corporation (ZimRe).

After working at Intermarket Reinsurance, Tristar, ZB Reinsurance and Credit Insurance (Credsure), L. Mutsunge Nazare joined Continental Re in 2010 where he has held the position of Executive Director (Head of Operations) until now.
