LeapFrog is investing in insurer Apollo

LeapFrog said it had invested 14 million USD in the East African insurer Apollo. It's the most important deal ever undertaken in Africa in the field of microinsurance. This move allows LeapFrog to have platforms in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
A year ago, the group had already invested in the South African insurer AllLife. The latter has now doubled in size. In addition to its life activities, health and non-life insurance, Apollo is covering 7.9 million workers in the informal sector.
LeapFrog is one of the pioneers of the socially responsible investments in Africa and Asia. The group specializes in microinsurance.
