Life insurance, a promising sector

Life insurance remains a promising sector for Algerian insurers. Specialists never hesitate to highlight its great potential. While insurance companies exhibit their ambitions, such perspectives remain quite distant from reality. Today, we count seven players specialized in life insurance. In the first quarter of 2012, the premiums generated has not exceeded 1 billion DZD (13.58 million USD), that is, twice less than in 2011. The forecasts for the end of the year are more optimistic as sales started to go upwards once again. Most insurers now rely on international alliances and bancassurance.
