Lion Air: Boeing 737 MAX 8 crash

October 29, 2018: 13 minutes after takeoff, flight 610 of Indonesian airliner Lion Air crashed in the Java Sea. The aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 8, manufactured in 2018 and put in service in August of the same year, was ensuring connection between Jakarta and Pangkal Pinang, Island of Bangka off the coast of Sumatra. 189 passengers on board and 8 crew members perished in the accident.

The airline company admitted that the aircraft had experienced some technical failures in a previous flight, which prompted investigators to consider manufacture defect as the prime suspect, invoking in the first place issues pertaining to altitude and speed gauges.
