Major insurers are increasing their market share

The seven largest insurers, including Jubilee, UAP and APA, have increased their market share between 2009 and 2010 with an increase from 43.7% to 46.3%. Thus , they total a premiums volume of 24.5 billion KES (313 million USD) in non-life insurance.

The market, which has 47 insurance companies, has generated a premiums volume of 52.3 billion KES (669 million USD) in 2010 and a net profit of 7.7 billion KES (98 million USD). Jubilee Insurance is number one with a market share of 8.81%, followed by UAP with 7.38%.
