Malawi drought: African Risk Capacity pays 14.2 million USD in compensation

ARCDuring the 2020-2021 agricultural season, Malawi experienced its worst drought since 1981.

To support the government and the population, African Risk Capacity (ARC) has paid 14.2 million USD to the World Food Programme (WFP). This amount will be used to provide food aid to vulnerable households and scale up the social cash transfer program.

Established in 2012 by the African Union, ARC's mission is to help member states mitigate the effects of extreme weather events.
