Mandalay Bay Hotel shooting: 4 000 complaints filed

Mandalay-BayMGM Resorts International, owner of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, is facing complaints from more than 4 000 people. The latter are suing the hotel for negligence and are seeking compensation for the October 2, 2017 shooting at Mandalay Bay.

The American leisure group initially turned to its insurer Zurich American Insurance Company for the coverage of the legal costs. Faced with the refusal of the insurer, who breached the contract in the meantime, MGM Resorts International filed a complaint against Zurich American Insurance.

On October 2, 2017, a heavily armed hotel guest opened fire from a 32nd floor window of the Mandalay Bay, on people attending a music concert on an esplanade in front of the hotel. 58 deaths more than 850 injured persons were reported.
