Decreasing marine loss experience in 2020
According to the "Safety and Shipping Review 2021" report, published by Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), marine loss experience is still declining in 2020.
A total of 49 vessels weighing more than 100 tons were reported missing in 2020, a figure more or less similar to the one recorded in 2019 (48) and a 50% decrease over ten years. The total number of marine claims drops from 2 818 in 2019 to 2 703 in 2020, representing a 4% decline.
With one third of the total losses in 2020, South China, Indochina, Indonesia and the Philippines are the most affected areas in the world.
