Moderate increase in insurance rates in 2016

Facts & Figures expects an increase of the tariffs in individual non life insurance in 2016 (0.5% to 1% on motor policies and 1% to 2% on home insurance ones). The firm's findings are the result of studies conducted within the framework of the 5th edition of its "non life insurance barometer."

According to Facts & Figures, the continuous rise in prices in the recent years has led to an erosion of the insurance portfolio. Over the years, new cases have failed to offset the cancellations. As a result, the 2016 trend is toward low rates increases. This orientation will be boosted by optimizing insurers' overhead expenses, reducing contract covers, greater risk segmentation and rewarding customer loyalty.
