Natural catastrophes, a first half less expensive

According to a study of Munich Re, loss caused by natural catastrophes in the 1st semester of 2014 has amounted to 17 billion USD, a decrease of 19% compared to the first half of 2013 (21 billion USD) and of 32% compared to the average of the last ten years (25 billion USD).

The German reinsurer has also noted a significant lowering of the number of deaths (-70.3%) caused by natural catastrophes, which stands at 2700 at year-half.
