Nearly 43 000 road accidents in 2013, a multisectoral meeting in preparation

Algerian roads recorded a total of 42864 accidents in 2013, an increase of 0.9% compared to 2012.

The number of deaths identified reached 4 540 (+2.1% compared to 2012).

The only indicator in decline is the number of casualties, with a 15.7%-drop at 58 269.

In such an alarming situation, the Minister of transport plans to hold a multisectoral meeting "to look deep into the causes of the hike of road accidents".
