Niko Insurance has changed its name

The Ugandan non life insurer Niko Insurance has changed its name. Owned at 84% by the South African group Sanlam, the company is now acting under the name of Sanlam General Insurance.

The adoption of a common brand for Sanlam subsidiaries has been in line with the insurer's strategy to consolidate its presence on the African continent and particularly in East Africa.

Sanlam General Insurance plans to introduce in 2016 new insurance products including aviation, marine, corporate risks, crop insurance and third party liability.
