No more compulsory health insurance for foreigners over 65

The General directorate for migration management (GDMM) has announced the withdrawal of the compulsory status of the health insurance for foreigners over 65 resident in Turkey.

This decision follows the reluctance of the eldery to settle in the country because of the residency process costs implemented last April (join state insurance scheme and acquire a private health insurance). Health insurance alone, could reach 2 350 USD for older residents.
