Odyssey Re opens a representative office in Beijing

Active for nearly 20 years in China, Odyssey Re Holdings has received approval of the Chinese regulatory authority of insurance (CIRC) to open a local representation.

The latter will be based in Beijing. According to AM Best, Odyssey Re Holdings is ranked 24^th among the top 50 global reinsurers in 2015.
A more marked presence in China (a strategic and ever-changing market) could allow it not only to climb up in the next ranking but also facilitate its transition to the planned decrease in the 2016 reinsurance premiums.
