Partner Re penalized by natural catastrophes

While the 2004 results were reporting a net profit of 492 million USD and a net premium volume worth 3.734 billion USD, Partner Re has announced a net deficit of 51 million USD in 2005.

This loss is accounted for by the different natural catastrophes that cost the Bermudan insurer 900 million USD in 2005. The combined ratio has grown from 94.3% in 2004 to 115.9% in 2005.
