Project of creating a regional reinsurance company

In an effort to halt capital flight, the authorities announced a project to establish regional reinsurance companies. According to a study conducted by the ministry of planning, 59% of overall gross premiums accumulated in 2003, the equivalent of 409 million USD, have been ceded to reinsurers.
