Promoting e-commerce in insurance

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has launched two committees to promote e-commerce in the insurance industry.

The two new instances, one specialized in life insurance and the other dedicated to non life insurance (including health insurance) are each composed of five members.

Among them are not only law experts, insurers but also intermediaries.
Their mission is to explore the possibilities and tools in order to promote online marketing of insurance products.

According to the Indian regulator, the two committees will finalize, within a month, a study report on the subject.
