Results of the orange card in 2002

According to Lebanon's Insurance Companies Association (ACAL), the use of the Orange Card has generated in 2002 a 2.08-million USD premium turnover, yielding 416 700 USD in net profits. Lebanon adhered to the “Orange Card” system at the end of 2001. This system features a motor insurance scheme covering 14 Arab countries. It also enables Lebanese underwriters to issue a motor insurance policy covering vehicles as they travel around Arab member countries.
In a total, 31 Lebanese insurance companies take part in this scheme managed by ACAL.
