Scor, a 13% increase in non-life premiums at January 1, 2011

The French reinsurer, Scor, reported an increase of its turnover by 13% at January 1, 2011 along with a stable profitability. The written premiums on that date reached 2.056 billion EUR (2.7 billion USD).
These good figures are accounted for by the group's growth in Latin America, Eastern Europe and Indonesia. The results on the German market are equally satisfactory.
The major setbacks came from the renewals in Canada and France. The 9% growth target for the gross written premiums during the year is maintained.
The gross premiums in 2011 are poised to reach 4 billion EUR (5.3 billion USD) with a combined ratio comprised between 95% and 96%.
