France: SCOR, first quarter 2016 results

Scor has reported its financial results as at 31 March 2016. The French reinsurer achieved a net income of 170 million EUR (192.3 million USD), down by 2.9% compared to the same period in 2015.

The company's turnover increased by 5.1% at 3.3 billion EUR (3.7 billion USD). The shareholders' equity, on its part , reached 6.4 billion EUR (7.2 billion USD).

Finally, the net non-life combined ratio slightly decreased going from 89.1% in the first quarter 2015 to 89.7% in the first three months of 2016.

In detail, the premiums written by SCOR Global Life, amounted to1.9 billion EUR (2.15 billion USD), an increase of 10.5% in comparison with the first quarter 2015.

In non-life insurance, the premiums written by SCOR Global P & C showed a decline of 1.6% to 1.4 billion EUR (1.6 billion USD).
