Scor, life insurance growing in the United States

Scor has acquired Generali USA holding specialized in life reinsurance, a transaction whose cost amounts to 750 million USD.

The reinsurer’s own resources will be used to achieve this acquisition with possible recourse to limited debt issuance. Thanks to this move, which will be subject to the approval of American authorities, Scor is poised to become the first life reinsurer in the United States. In 2012, Generali US generated a volume of net premiums of 900 million USD, totally made on the American soil. Following this integration, the portfolio of Scor group will be made up of 55% of life business and 45% of non life.
