SCOR settles in East Africa

SCOR intends to settle in Kenya. In this regard, a request for approval has been filed with local regulators. The French reinsurer's first office in the East Africa will serve as a basis for SCOR Global P & C activities in the region.

The new entity will be headed by Christian Ramamonjiarisoa, former underwriter in Corifrance and former broker with Afro-Asian Insurance Services based in Nairobi.

As stated by Hedi Hachicha, CUO in SCOR's P & C for Africa and the Middle East, this creation is part of the group's strategy that intends to boost its activities in East Africa and to mark its presence in the energy risks as well as the large infrastructure projects.
