Moroccan companies are the only ones standing to the South Africans. International groups such as AXA, Allianz, AIG, or Lloyd's have a very small share of the South African market.

Zurich, the largest of them all, holds only 4% of this market. There is an opposite trend in reinsurance where five of the world's largest reinsurers share 75% of the market.
