STAR embarks on a restructuring period

Lassaad Zarouk, chairman of STAR, Tunisia’s main insurer, has said his company embarked on a restructuring period with a view to revive its operations. This reshuffle is designed to modernize the company. The relation currently existing with the State and state owned companies will be reviewed. STAR will propose new products to both companies and individuals just as other markets are proceeding. This initiative aims at rendering the company less dependent on motor business. The 2011 turnover amounts to 205 million TND (137 million USD), down by 3% compared to 2010.
