Surge of online insurance sales

During the first half of 2015, China recorded a record sales of online insurance policies.
The contracts underwritten by individuals via the Internet amounted to 81.6 billion CNY( 12.8 billion USD), three times the amount achieved in the same period in 2014.

On the other hand, industrials subscribed online for an amount of 85.9 billion CNY (13.4 billion USD).
In China, online insurance sales represents 4.7% of total underwritings. According to the Insurance Association of China (IAC), the e-insurance popularity is expected to increase in the coming years.
This distribution channel will play a major role in the development and growth of the sector.
