TCIP pool is keen on a 60% increase of policies

In 2013, the Turkish natural catastrophes pool (TCIP) has covered 6.2 million homes across the country, that is 35% of all dwellings, a rate higher than that reported last year. The pool aims to provide 10 million policies in 2014, which would represent an increase of 60%. Homeowner’s insurance has been made mandatory 13 years after the devastating earthquake that shook the Marmara Sea. It now covers earthquakes and subsequent effects (fire, explosions or landslides). The country has 76 million people and 18 million homes.
