The 2006 Football World Cup

Despite the considerable increase of its revenues in 2005, the International Football Association (FIFA) has to double its reserves in order to finance insurance policies covering the cancellation of major events starting with the World Cup scheduled from June 9 to July 9 in Germany, and which will be partially covered, not by an insurance contract, but rather by a deal of 297 million Canadian dollars (264.38 million USD) made on the financial markets.
