The 2A, a 24% rise in the 2009 turnover

The turnover of the 2A (Algérienne des Assurances) has reported a substantial increase in 2009. With 2.7 billion DZD (38.3 million USD) of written premiums in 2009, the company is witnessing a 24% growth in comparison with 2008. This progress is mainly due to the good performance of the property damage class of business which, henceforth, accounts for 44% of the portfolio, versus 33% for the motor. The 2A detains 5% of the market shares, which makes it the leading private insurance company.
