The chairman of NSIA calls for a single market

In an interview with the magazine “Les Afriques”, Jean Kacou Diagou, chairman of NSIA, welcomed the decision to increase the minimum capital of the insurance companies from 500 million to 1 billion FCFA (762 000 USD to 1 524 000 USD ) in the CIMA zone. He says the next step should be to create a single insurance market. For the NSIA group, it has not achieved all of its objectives despite its good results. Insurance premiums have increased by 21% in 2009 reaching 118 million EUR (169 million USD). The group, established 15 years ago, is now spread out across 11 African countries via 20 companies among which 18 specialised in insurance.
