Saudi Arabia: The construction sector behind most workplace accidents

A report by the general organization of social insurance has disclosed the findings of a survey on work-related accidents. The 50 800 accidents reported in 2015 claimed the lives of 307 people.

It is no surprise that the building sector tops the list of statistics with 53% of the cases reported. Commercial activities come second with 19% of the total number of accidents followed by industry with 15%. In 2014, 69 000 accidents were reported, 51% pertain to the building sector.
