The development of the insurance market passes through brokerage

Maurice Amogola, President of Uganda Association of Insurance Brokers (UAIB), returned on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the UAIB on the role of brokers in the development of insurance in Uganda. "The insurance industry has struggled to achieve significant levels of penetration."

A statement supported by a low score of insurance in GDP: 0.65%, against 2.2% in Tanzania and 2.76% in Kenya.

For the president of the UAIB, this gap is the result of the policy of insurance companies, of which "only 40% of [businesses] pass by brokers against 75% in Kenya and 80% in Tanzania."
