The Ebola epidemic is not covered by insurance

In case of a declared epidemic, a traveler can not use the guarantee of the insurance contract "trip cancellation".

Photo credit: usaid.gov The cancellation of a trip to an area that is officially affected by the Ebola virus (or any other) is at the expense of the passenger. The overwhelming majority of insurance contracts excludes countries quarantined or subject to restrictions for health reasons.
In addition, a foreigner affected by the virus and having assistance insurance will not be repatriated. Insurance is based on random risks. Therefore, known and confirmed cases cannot be insured.
