The Ghanaian Insurance Association is lodging a lawsuit against the State

The Ghanaian Insurers Association is intent on suing the State in an attempt to push it to withdraw the directive prohibiting state institutions to insure with private companies. For the Association, this law, which has implications abroad, is inconsistent with the interests of the market.
Some countries may, by reciprocity, make it harder for Ghanaian insurers to have access to their business. This is the case of Cameroon where private insurers are reluctant to work with Ghana Re.
