The Insurance Commission plans to reform motor insurance

The insurance committee plans to reform the 1987 established system, entrusting the Compulsory Unified Insurance office with guiding clients towards underwriters. The envisaged proposal will enable customers to directly make recourse to companies of their choice. It is supposed to thrust competition, consolidate middleman networks, and rehabilitate a loss-making sector. As a reminder, the third party insurance tariffs, compulsory since 2001, have been subjected in 2003 to a 100 and 150% increase respectively for vehicles registered in Jordan and abroad.
