The Insurance Federation is standing up to the line ministry

Jordan Insurance Federation (JOIF) has criticized the decision of the ministry of industry and trade requiring of insurance companies to pay compensation for claims caused by snowstorms in December.

The Federation has expressed its dissatisfaction over the obligation to cover these claims under the motor third party liability insurance contracts. During the storm, the government issued a ban bringing all vehicles to a standstill.

Following this announcement, insurers feel entitled to reject applications for compensation due to accidents sustained by policyholders.
Nearly 670 accidents causing the death of 5 people were reported during this snowfall.
