The most devastating bushfires in 30 years

Southern Australia has fallen prey to devastating bushfires, with the authorities proclaiming a state of natural catastrophe in the region of Adelaide where many vehicles and homes were affected by the fire.

Damage is estimated at 13 million AUD (10.6 million USD). The current summer season is particularly dry in some areas, which is likely to prompt bushfires, a situation last witnessed about 30 years ago.
